Project Manager
Jankoba Jabbi
Janko lives in Misera and is the brother of the Alkalo (chief) of the village of Misera. He has a background in education and is the ‘face’ of the project, with responsibility for successful delivery, staff management, budget oversight, marketing and promotions as well as liaison with key national/international partners and funding bodies.

Samsideen Barry
Sam lives with his family in the village of Sambel Kunda close to the forest edge. He leads the C4RC ecotourism programme providing red colobus safaris as well as a range of other wildlife and cultural experiences for our visitors. Sam also supports the ranger team with their primate research and monitoring work.

Buba Bah
Buba is from the village of Touba on the western edge of the C4RC project area and works with Meta and Musukuta to deliver the education and outreach programme. As well as teaching in the local schools, Buba runs the C4RC wildlife clubs which provide opportunities for local children to engage with nature.

Meta Barry
Meta Barry led the C4RC education programme to 2023 but is currently completing a Diploma in Higher Education at Gambia College. Meta is an inspiring educator who helped to develop all aspects of our education programme including women's groups, C4RC wildlife clubs and class based teaching.

Idrissa Njie
Idi has lived in Sambel Kunda throughout his life and has a wealth of knowledge relating to the flora and fauna of the forests in the C4RC area. He manages the tree nursery with support from the trainees which propagates native and non-native trees to regenerate the forest and as cash crops for the local communities.

Musukuta Barry
Musukuta is a qualified teacher who works with Buba to deliver the C4RC outreach and education programme as well as working part time at Sambel Kunda basic school.

Abdou Sidibeh
Abdou leads the C4RC primate monitoring and forest patrol programme with support from the C4RC ranger trainees. Regular surveys of the red colobus monkeys help to determine their population size, seasonal movements and health status. Forest patrols identify and help to mitigate threats from illegal logging and poaching.

Mic Mayhew
Mic Mayhew is a veterinary surgeon and conservation biologist working at the University of Cumbria in the UK. Mic set up C4RC in 2019 and has worked with the Department of Parks and Wildlife Management and other national/international stakeholders on red colobus health and conservation since 2014. ​

Jennifer Cramer
Jennifer Cramer is an anthropologist and primatologist. Studying wild primates in a diverse range of habitats and countries, she is fascinated by primate behavior and social relationships. Working with C4RC and other Gambian collaborators, Jennifer supports priorities that local communities share as critical to their efforts to protect their primates and forests.

Christy Woolwich
Christy is an ecologist who studies social behaviour in primates. She is based at Florida Southern College in the United States and her research examines patterns of behavior in relation to the formation and maintenance of pair bonds in monogamous owl monkeys (Aotus spp.). Christy is married to a Gambian and has extensive experience of studying Gambian primates and supporting community capacity building initiatives in the C4RC project area.

Joshua Linder
Joshua is an anthropologist with almost 20 years of experience studying primates in African tropical forests (especially in Cameroon) and applying scientific data to inform primate conservation efforts. Joshua is also a professor of anthropology and has taught face-to-face and online courses in biological anthropology, primate behavioral ecology, and primate conservation at James Madison University (Virginia) and Duke University (North Carolina). He is one of the lead editors of the Red Colobus Conservation Action Plan, and also co-founded the Partners for Red Colobus program which supports priority actions identified in the Red Colobus Conservation Action Plan.
